Tomb Raider: The Nightmare Stone
for gameboy color

In the first Tomb Raider GBC game, Lara goes to South America in search of the legendary Nightmare Stone, reputed to be the magical prison an evil god. She explores ancient ruins; dodges enemies like scorpions, snakes, mummies and skeletons; solves puzzles involving keys, switches and pressure pads; avoids traps, including deadly spikes, crumbling floors and searing lava—in short, everything you'd expect from a Tomb Raider adventure. . . only smaller.

The game includes 14 levels (each with multiple maps) in five different areas—a temple, royal tombs, treasure chambers, caverns and a volcanic temple.

*NOTE: The starred maps are larger than a standard 8½" x 11" sheet of paper. You can try printing the horizontal maps using landscape orientation. Or, download the two halves of the map separately, print both and tape them together.

Tomb Raider: Curse of the Sword
for gameboy color

In the sequel Lara must face a sinister New Orleans-based cult in order to learn the secrets of a mysterious sword and save her own soul from its curse. There are nine levels, each with multiple maps to explore. Includes the action and puzzle-solving TR fans love, plus a few new moves. Here are a few screenshots:

Tomb Raider: The Prophecy
for gameboy advance

Gameplay and graphics in Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Prophecy is somewhere between the GBC and PC/console games. Naturally, it includes some traditional Tomb-Raider elements, like running, climbing, jumping, puzzle solving, switch pulling and two-pistol combat. But unlike the previous, side-scrolling GBC adventures, this game has an overhead perspective that allows players to move Lara more freely in her environment. French game producer Ubi Soft (known for such titles as Rayman, Tonic Trouble and the Rainbow Six/Rogue Spear series) has done the coding. Core Design provided the heroine.
